Slovenian group

Well, I see that I'll have to be the first of the groups to write something :)
My name is Bojan and I'm a representative for a Slovenian group, that will join the project on Saaremaa island in August. We are all a part of a "Youth center Kotlovnica" that is located in a town Kamnik, 25 kilimeters north from a capital Ljubljana. We are a group of young energic people and we hope to find some related people from other parts of Europe, to exchange our experiences, learn something new and have fun with new friends.
The world education is a huge subject so there will be a lot of things that we can discuss about. We have choose to present a subject about media education. Each of us is somehow conected with some kind of media so we know few about how to use media in daily life and how to interprete it correctly. We will bring some examples and topics that we can discuss about and of course, you will also take part in our presentation :).
Anyway, that's not the only thing we'll talk about :) The Slovenian evening will give you a picture of our small country. You'll be able to see, hear and try things, that are tipical for our culture. We'll have fun, that's for sure...
Now, let us know something about yourself. We can't wait to start the project.
Greeting from all of us...
Bojan, Andrej, Austra, Iztok, Klara, Živa

Young people from Saaremaa can win a trip to Brussels!

Two active young people (aged 14-25) from Saaremaa have chance to win a trip to Brussels. This trip is possible thanks to Siiri Oviir (http://www.siirioviir.ee), member of European Parliament (The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe: http://www.alde.eu/ (Estonian Center Party)).

To take part in this draw you (young person from Saaremaa) have to find us during the project and let us know what are the important topics for you in local, national and global level. There will be several chances for this in Kuressaare and also in other places in Saaremaa. Follow our blog to know where can you find us. Project in Saaremaa takes place from 20-27th August. There will be also smaller prizes for all participants.
There will be also another opportunity - an essay competition... so keep yourself updated here or on our facebook page.

Tele 2 makes a contribution to our exchange

Tele 2 has agreed to be our sponsor by providing us 35 Smart cards. This means that all participants can communicate with each other and this makes our exchange much more safe. Nobody can get lost and we can contact eveyone anytime. And the calls between ourselves are for free :)

Getter acquires 100 condoms :)

After successful talks with Estonian Sexual Health Associatoion (ESHA) Getter has reached an agreement that ESHA will provide for us 100 condoms. In return we will distribute some information about their activities. To get more information about ESHA check: http://amor.ee/56401.

So.. to remind you all... sex education is also an important part of world education :)

Project: “One World - Our World!” by Saaremaa Seiklejad approved by Estonian national agency!

Dates: 20. - 29. August 2010
Location: Saaremaa, Estonia
Partners: Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia, Greece, Bulgaria and Italy.
Theme: World education and global awareness
Description:   Project “One World – Our World!” takes place in Estonia from 20th to 29th of August 2010 on the island of Saaremaa and brings together 32 young people from Estonia, Slovenia, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria and Latvia. The main aim of the project is to discuss topics related to world education and global awareness which include: the impact of media and connection to global awareness, fighting against discrimination, racism and xenophobia, environmental awareness and sustainable development, human trafficking, fair trade and life on different continents (countries). We work together to get to know more about these important topics and try to find solutions how to get more people interested in these problems which have (in)direct effect on all of us. For that we also communicate with local people on the island of Saaremaa and find what is important for them, locally and globally. We also develop our own group. Together we find our differences and similarities and get over cultural barriers. We develop the understanding of common European citizenship and common future, where are no discrimination or xenophobia.
We also work on a photo exhibition, which concentrates on the topic of global awareness and on the outcomes of our project. This is our way to make ourselves and our ideas visible and get people thinking about global problems and what they could do to be more aware and maybe also get involved.
